Talk The Nicessa framework: Non-intrusive combinatorial execution of stochastic simulations and their analysis


In addition to deductive and inductive reasoning, computational simulation is about to become a third pillar of the scientific method. Running simulations requires a recurring set of technical tasks: Variable settings need to be recombined, log files need to be managed and for stochastic use cases, the results need to be analysed graphically and statistically. In addition, the computational workload often needs to be distributed over several computers. Currently, researchers all over the world keep reinventing custom solutions for these tasks. NICESSA is a light-weight, general-purpose simulation framework, which relieves the researcher of generalisable technical tasks, while being non-intrusive with respect to the implementation of the simulation model.
